The House That Built Me

Ashley Pate Interior Design began in our master bedroom closet where I worked vigorously to get my business off the ground. At the time, my husband and I were new parents to our second child and the only available space in our 1,800 sq. ft. home for my office was our walk-in closet. I had earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Dallas, but that was no guarantee my business would be an overnight success. Through hard work and relentless dedication, we have grown tremendously over the years and I am proud to say we have expanded into a full-service interior design firm. With the support of our loving clientele, paired with our unmatched skills in residential and small commercial design, we have become an award-winning interior design firm.

We are now located in a beautiful office building in McKinney, TX where we serve our clients in all of their interior design needs. Now that we are established, it is time to give back to our community. Today, we are honored to announce our new initiative, The House That Built Me, which will aid single, hard-working mothers in their efforts to create a safe and comfortable home for their children.

The House That Built Me is a meaningful way for Ashley Pate Interior Design to give back to the community by providing professional interior design services to hard-working single mothers.

The Story Behind The House That Built Me Interior Design Initiative

My husband was a high school football coach for 17 years and during this time the idea of The House That Built Me was born. There were many days he would come home from work and tell me about athletes who played on his team living in difficult situations at home. Many players on his team lived in single-parent homes. It was not uncommon for him to leave early in the morning to help these athletes make it to practice or drive them home after school while their mothers were at work. I was proud of him for helping and admired the single mothers for working so hard to provide for their children!

While brainstorming on how I could use Ashley Pate Interior Design to help, we developed The House That Built Me interior design initiative. Throughout my 25 years in the industry, I have come to realize my expertise and education in interior design provides my clients with more than just professionally designed homes. The end result is beautiful, but the homes that I design are more than just that. The homes that I design are safe places where my clients can go to escape the outside world. Their homes are places they feel happy and proud to live. Their homes are places where so many wonderful memories are made with friends and family. The House That Built Me was created to provide single, hard-working mothers and their children with the same level of assurance and comfort within their homes!
